The Mysterious Community that Controls Viral
I'd like to share with the Ignite crowd the very mysterious and underground world/community that controls a large amount of the content that goes "viral" on the web. There's more control over what goes "viral" then the eye can see.
I'll shed light on the "seeing" process of content to the point where it hits the masses and generates millions of views.
I am take part in this process on a daily basis. From the creation of content to the spread of content to the point that it "pops".

Doing The Impossible
Picture the opening slide displaying "It's impossible...to give an Ignite talk without speaking" and then watching Dixon disconnect the microphone. What follows will be completely unexpected. He plugs the microphone cable into his gear box and produces an electric violin, which he begins to play. A beautiful sound eminates, a slide displays "It's impossible...to play the violin without playing the violin" and the sound continues as Dixon's bow leaves the strings. Further slides continue (impossible sounds, impossible layers, impossible feelings) during a performance that leaves the audience awe-inspired...

The Glocal Life
Let's be honest, most of spend most of our day on our blackberrys or computers. But how often to we stop to think about how many different communities we operate in every day?
Living the "Glocal" life allows you to be simultaneously global and local. I've learned to live the Glocal life after moving back and forth between Michigan and China (with a brief pit stop in Israel).

You Like Trivial Things, And That's Okay!
"Lindsay Lohan is getting more searches than X wonderful/important cause. What does that say about us?" My answer: Not a whole lot. This idea that being frivolous and serious are mutually exclusive is wrong, and, if given the opportunity to speak, I will talk about why that is and and how we can and should use the power of levity to do great things and inspire change.

How to be a better boss by encouraging failure.
Everybody is going to mess up. It happens. The first time I ever produced a TV commercial, it was an unmitigated disaster. And my boss let it happen. But the lessons I learned that week stuck with me forever. If youÕre a team leader, donÕt be afraid to let someone fail. In most professions, no one is going to die if you mess up. The trick, as a boss, is to let it happen in a way that works out best for everyone.

Bringing Game Models To The Workplace
Sixty-one percent of CEOs, CFOs and other senior executives take daily game breaks while at work. More than 183 million people in the United States describe themselves as active gamers (individuals who in surveys report that they play computer or video games "regularly" - on average, thirteen hours per week).
With this significant dedication of time and resources to virtual worlds, isn't it high time we start bringing elements of gaming into the boardroom?
